CLI configuration

Three fields define the Toucan build and ejection root.

Fields

  • tokens — optional path to a custom DTCG token root containing raw, alias, and system directories. Omit it for the built-in preset.
  • outDir — local root for ejected groups and generated _toucan assets. Defaults to ./components/toucan.
  • reset — include Toucan's base reset in generated CSS. Defaults to false.

File formats and precedence

The CLI discovers toucan.config.json, .js, .mjs, then.ts. Command flags override config values. Prefer JSON unless executable configuration is genuinely useful; it is the format toucan init can safely update.
